St. Bernardine of Siena Catholic Parish was
established on May 28, 1966 by Patrick Cardinal O' Boyle, Archbishop of
Washington. The founding pastor, Father Andrew J. Cassin celebrated our
first Mass on May 29, 1966 at the Suitland Senior High School. Future
masses were celebrated at the Suitland Junior High School until the church
was completed in 1968. Our current pastor, Fr. Kevin O'Reilly,
was appointed in July 2005. In
March of 1987, the parishioners began raising funds to build a parish hall. Siena Hall opened in December of 1994.
Newly re-built after a roof collapse in 2003, this beautiful facility with
a capacity to seat 250 is used to house parish activities and community
events and is a full-service facility.
All are
welcome!
